BURBERRY for Women
At the moment, after all of the testing and all of the bottles & sniffing, if now I need to pick a signature -- THIS would be it! Burberry Girl.
First Burberry Girl is loved by me! It is the best Burberry by far, Brit EDP being #2 (meh on Burberry Body, overly sharp & tattered, with that strange green absynthe note). The Burberry London in plaid bottle that is rectangular was much too flowery for me -- Burberry Girl is a soft smooth vanilla asian, and I adore orientals.
I still have half of my first Burberry 3.4oz bottle, which I purchased when it was released (1995) -- and it is a strong gold colour -- so I suppose you could call it the "classic" formula. Burberry was second to Allure EDP within my favorites list about a decade past -- both warm orientals with vanilla in the bottom.
I took a cursory sniff of the examiner and yep, smells such as the first, just lightened up. The notes have not changed.
Fragrantica.com says: "It begins with succulent and fresh blast of fruits; peach, apricot, cool pear and black currant. One's heart is woody-floral; composed of sharp and clear notes of jasmine gradually harmonized against the notes of cedar and sandalwood.

Base Notes - Vanilla, musk
My vintage bottle odors like Peach, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Musk -- smooth & rich, having a little boozy quality. The fruit is not especially noticeable to me (which is a great thing since I do not enjoy fruity) -- it only serves to lighten & sweeten the deeper notes a bit, but the focus is on the strong vibrant basenotes, and the vanilla is clear and the reason I adore it.
Burberry is among my all time favourite smells, because it is not so cool & smooth, joining wood with vanilla, as well as musk.
